The Fold is a series of buildings that fold through downtown Oklahoma City’s landscape. Using
pre-engineered metal frames, the roof is able to fold and weave its way through the site. The
building is at an angle, engaging the corner with an open courtyard. The courtyard features various
pavement materials and planters strategically placed throughout. There is a bridge that
splits through the buildings, creating a space for the observation deck where viewers can peer
into different biomes and the Oklahoma City landscape. Each biome connects along one axis and
invites visitors to travel throughout the space at their own pace. The large volumes bring in a lot
of natural light and allow for some balconies within the biomes. Different folding canopies and
systems feature on the exterior of the building, breaking up the large volumes. Overall, The Fold is
a space to connect with nature, the existing environment, your neighbors, and the city as a whole.
